About

Jean Collins

Jean started riding as a child at local shows and trail rides. Jean has always loved learning anything about horses and riding and she loves being around people who also enjoy them.

Jean first got involved in Dressage4Kids when her daughter, Wiggy (Laura Collins), showed Royal Ascot at the Youth Dressage Festival when she was 8 years old.  After the kids and pony clubbers were not showing anymore, they still came to volunteer.  Three of Jean's kids are still very involved in horses.  One has two pets that she loves to trail ride, one works for Ashlee Bond right now, and Wiggy is working on her own business.  She's teaching and involved in other things at the barn where she has her horses.  Because of Wig and the fact that she has horses, Jean still gets to ride once in a while.  Mostly though Jean now paints horses; she paints a lot of portraits of horses and dogs.

Jean continues to take an active part in Dressage4Kids through her work on the committee and volunteering at the Youth Dressage Festival.

When asked what motivates her most about Dressage4Kids, Jean writes, "I think D4K is a great opportunity for kids and I love being part of it."
