Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival Scholarship Nomination Form

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, Dressage4Kids is able to offer one scholarship in the amount of $250 for one young rider to attend Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival at HITS on the Hudson in Saugerties, NY in August 2024. Trainers must submit the below nomination form, nominating a rider whom they would like to receive a scholarship. Nominees (riders) must be 25 years old or under (FEI age rules apply) and have either participated in a Dressage4Kids, Inc. program or assisted with a D4K program as a volunteer. Dressage4Kids Programs include Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival, the various TEAM programs (TEAM clinics or the Horsemastership Clinics), the Training4Teaching Program, D4K UP (formerly the Weekend Equestrian Program), the Summer Intensive Training Program, and the Winter Intensive Training Program.

The donors' intent for is to enable a youth rider to attend LYDF who otherwise would be financially unable to attend. They felt that because LYDF at Saugerties is a multi-day event, the overall cost is definitely a factor in the decision to attend. They hope that this scholarship will make that difference. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient. Any money awarded but not spent to achieve the goal outlined in the application must be returned to Dressage4Kids, Inc. In the event that the scholarship recipient does not attend Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival, the scholarship funds must be returned to Dressage4Kids.

The scholarship recipient will be required to write a report sharing what they have learned or accomplished in the form of a letter, journal or diary. Photographs may be included. The report will be kept by the Committee, shared with local organizations if applicable, and may be used for publicity purposes to advance the overall awards program.

Scholarship nominations MUST come from the rider's trainer (riders are not permitted to apply directly).
