Quadrille

Optional Classes

Quadrille

Quadrille is most simply defined as team riding. The most famous, readily identifiable quadrilles are those of the Spanish Riding School, the Cadre Noir and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Quadrille offers a great way to compete together as a team!

4 riders are required to form a Quadrille team.

The three PRIMARY considerations for scoring of each movement are:

  • Spacing (longitudinal and lateral)
  • Synchrony (timing of turns, circles, transitions, crossovers, pass-throughs)
  • Alignment (longitudinal and lateral)

With additional attention to:

  • Impulsion
  • Submission
  • Performance as a group (uniform and harmonious)

For the Dressage4Kids Youth Dressage Festival, Quadrilles from Introductory through First Level will be offered.  A rider competing at a higher level Division may still compete in a Quadrille.  The USDF Quadrille tests are available by clicking the links below.
