Karen segued to Dressage in 1988 after spending a decade riding in Eventing, and she has been involved in Dressage4Kids since 2002 after connecting with Lendon about Dressage4Kids. Outside of Dressage4Kids, Karen enjoys training and trialing her Australian Shepherds in herding cattle, sheep, and ducks (yes... ducks! They are quite difficult).
Karen continues to take an active part in Dressage4Kids as a D4K Committee Member and as coordinator for the Competitor Stabling credits for selling advertising in the Youth Dressage Festival Program.
When asked what motivates her most about Dressage4Kids, Karen writes, "The riders' ambition to better themselves in order to excel as horse-business people."
Karen also shares, "I have tremendous respect for Lendon and all she has done for young people. Her vision has been of great benefit to young, aspiring equestrians and to the USDF at large."
